Well...the weeks really blur together here! The days follow the same routine, and I'm not a so sure I really remember what happened this week to set it apart from the others.
Except for my wonderful package!! Haha, thanks for the Swedish Fish, Dad! And for our new district mascot. I loved it!

And CONGRATULATIONS on The Tabernacle Choir!!!! I am SO excited for you! You are a talented man; I knew you were gonna make it! You just gotta have some faith, and take a step! I'm really proud of you for doing that :) looks like we're all doing some growing up.

This whole visa ordeal started eight weeks ago, and the first set of missionaries with problems were sent out this week. They were reassigned to Georgia and Tennessee. They also split our branch because of all the new missionaries that came in on wednesday--the girls in my room, my companion, and all of my friends were put in an Italian branch.
So, now I am companion-less and friend-less. I must have been doing way too much goofing off and not enough "missionizing" for them to take away all my friends haha.

On Sunday, we took a little stroll around the temple, grabbed some pictures and said some goodbyes.

But I still have my district, and they are fabulous.
When they're not sleeping.....
Or making shanks.....
So thanks for all the encouraging talk about Brazil, but it doesn't look like I'll be headed there anytime soon! I'm just praying that I get reassigned to... San Diego or Texas, because my wardrobe can't even stand this mild Utah chill. It's a serious concern ha.
There is a sister from Sao Paulo Brazil who lives a couple doors down. She is so great. She comes over every night to talk to us and brings us candy and bracelets. She'll be leaving soon, so I told her she had come to the right place when she explained that she needed to rid her baggage of any excess-candy-weight.
She looked at me with wide-eyes when I told her I was going to Maceio and said with a heavy accent: "It's hot...it is freaking hot." Haha, I don't think I would mind the heat right about now!
After prayer that night she huddled us all in close and said in a very serious tone--"Listen, this is important." We all leaned in listening intently for the words of advice that were about to follow, waiting for some spiritual enlightment. "The best soccer team..." We all errupted in laughter. But she didn't stop, apparently it is serious business. She made us swear not to forget that when we were asked, "Who's your team?" we were to reply "CORINTAS!" or...something like that.
Welp, life is good. I'm learning and growing, as always. Some days are hard, but it just makes the good ones that much better :) It's getting to be a lot more work. After making leaps and bounds from nothing to something in the first couple weeks...it's a lot harder to see the continuing progress now. But I just try to stay positive, optomistic, and to not get discouraged.
Love you lots!!!!
Sister Rachel Smith
