A lot of people are having a really rough time still being here, but I am trying my hardest to use the time I have to prepare myself to be a more effective missionary. Being in the megadistrict and having Sister Simpkins as my companion has yeilded the perfect environment to do that!
She is just as optimistic about being here as I am, we have a lot of the same goals, and she is focused and hard working. We are complete opposites though... and it suits us well! We have differing strengths and weaknesses; and where one is lacking, the other one is there to pick them right up. I just love her so much!
She likes to compare us to farmers in the middle of a draught, both praying for rain. One merely on his knees, and the other out plowing the field. As we are praying to be able receive our visas or reassignments, we are preparing ourselves for the rain by working hard. But I am being patient :) I know that God's plan is perfect, and am trusting in his timing.
We've had some incredible teaching experiences this week as we've taught some of our teachers. It's wonderful to be able to help people, and I can't wait to get out into the field. I just love the people I will teach already and I haven't even met them!
This week, we've been focusing a lot on teaching The Restoration. Elder L. Tom Perry spoke to the missionaries this week and taught us the same message. As I've heard and shared so many testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the resoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have felt such a strong spirit come into my days and into my life!
Love you lots!!!
Sister Smith
